Animations that provide useful information
Garda lake can have some powerful winds blowing through the day. Generally they are constant, but their characteristics change every day. Strong winds go with big waves, and even if this is a lake, waves here can be very dangerous.
On the home’s background, a subtle animation immediately alert you about the waves strength, with three levels: calm, moderate and strong. This allows you to better understand what to expect once in the water.
A wind sock says more than numbers
Home screen — Open the app and everything you need is just there: weather conditions, water temperature, wind strength and direction.
Garda lake has nine unique winds that blow regularly and surfers need to know exactly how strong they are at any given moment. They also want to be able to check other key weather conditions before going out for a ride.
The app tracks winds in real time. For a safer practice you should always know the weather conditions you are dealing with. The app just does that using open APIs to connect to a real time tracking system.

Even if a surfer usually knows how to read the numbers, a wind sock is a more convenient way to judge winds strength. That’s why we came up having a wind sock animation on the app’s home screen, knowing that some people are more comfortable with that than numbers.
